For the GENIUS Press Formally Launches Today With Publication of Its First Book: Fundraising for the GENIUS

With the release today of its first book, Fundraising for the GENIUS, a new publishing imprint today said “Hello World” to millions of future readers who will enjoy learning about just about any subject from a series of books that is authoritative and even fun, and that thinks highly of its readers.

“Though we admit to a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun in referring to our readers as geniuses,” said Publisher Stephen C. Nill, “we do in fact think highly of them. We know that they are intelligent and knowledgeable about many subjects, just not necessarily on the subject of the GENIUS book they’ve just picked up. They know that, despite the title, our books are for pretty much everyone, not just ‘Einsteins’—though even some Einsteins will enjoy our books, too.”

According to Nill, the publishing company views “genius” the way that American inventor Thomas Edison did when he famously said that “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.” Nill says that For the GENIUS Press celebrates the fact that “our readers are inspired to learn a subject enough to pick up one of our books, which in turn inspires us to ensure, through plenty of perspiration at every step, excellence in producing them.”

Books in the For the GENIUS Series–“GENIUS books” for short–are written for beginners and those who are rusty and want a refresher. Readers will receive a solid foundation in the subject in a step-by-step progression from the fundamentals to more advanced aspects. They will enjoy the fun, upbeat, and first-person writing style. They will even find themselves entertained by the occasional sprinkled-in humor.

Fundraising for the GENIUS was written by Linda Lysakowski. Lysakowski is one of fewer than 100 professionals worldwide to hold the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive designation. She has managed capital campaigns, helped hundreds of nonprofit organizations achieve their development goals, and trained more than 22,000 development professionals in Canada, Mexico, Egypt and the 50 United States. Though written in a conversational, informal style, the book, at 456 pages, covers the field well enough for a beginner to receive a thorough grounding in the subject and go on to raise substantial support for nonprofit organizations.

Though the parent company of For the GENIUS Press, CharityChannel LLC, has its roots in the nonprofit world, the new series will not be limited to nonprofit subjects. Any subject that people want to learn about will be considered, according to Nill.
